Sketch2Plan Head Office is located in British Columbia, Canada. Thanks to the Internet and fast computers, most of our drafting people work from home converting customer garage sketches to 2D and 3D CAD garage plans. Together we create an amazing cross section of industry skills. We have on staff a Graphics Designer, several CAD drafting persons, a Carpenter, A Computer Programmer and more. We also have DIY (Do It Yourself) people skilled in plumbing, electrical, roofing, drywall and many other skills. Needless to say, when we have a design problem it is quickly solved.
Sketch2Plan started quite by accident several years back when the owner who was a computer programmer was assigned a task to automate a somewhat repetitive AutoCAD drawing process. He was contracting to a construction company who employed several CAD drafters who would take data from customer orders and draft in AutoCAD these different concrete structures all day long. 60 concrete structures might take 40 hours to draw(one week). Using the AutoCAD SDK (Software Development Kit) and the AutoCAD API (Application Programming Interface) and using the Microsoft C# programming language, the new computer program was soon ready and they called it LEO. LEO could read the customer orders and send instructs to draw 60 concrete structures using AutoCAD. In 8 seconds all 60 structures were on the screen ready to edit or print. That's right, 40 hours work done in 8 seconds. Nobody was laid off, the company expanded.
At Sketch2Plan we build on this type of automation as much as we can. That's how we can offer custom 2D and 3D CAD garage plans for such a low price. Yes there are tools out there that you can buy to do your own 2D and 3D garage plans. First you have to find the right tools, then buy them and then learn them. The learning part can take 100's of hours. We're hoping you'll just let us do it for you.
